Case study
The Swans mobility platform is a web/mobile integrated platform designed to offer on demand transport services in Western Australia.
The project specifications required the design of several software modules, including: customer apps, web portals, and driver apps.
The main challenge of the Swans project has been designing an interface that was suitable for a realtime, and event-based, process. Instead of a reactive user interface, where the user interaction determines the majority of the transitions, in an on demand transport solution there is a significant part of UI refresh occurring when events happen outside the user device.
As a UX designer I have been involved by the software engineering company tasked to develop the product. I have been given the project specification, composed by several user stories, and the corporate identity. I analyzed them and eventually went through several iterations to produce a Figma mockup and several prototypes to showcase the intended user interaction.
I have been also involved in the logo design, and in the UAT phase, contributing to assess the fidelity of the actual implementation compared to the Figma design.
As part of the deliverables, I designed a set of components that the developers used to create a dashboard admin console aligned with the customer corporate identity.
